Gary Johnson @ U of M, this Friday!

Image

Former Governor of New Mexico and current LP candidate for President Gary Johnson is visiting Ann Arbor this coming Friday afternoon from 2-4 pm to speak!,

Johnson, who has been referred to as the “most fiscally conservative Governor” in the country, served as the 29th Governor of the state of New Mexico from 1995-2003. He is well-known for his low-tax libertarian views, social tolerance, and regular participation in triathlons.

From a source within the Johnson campaign, he is “currently polling (yes, a Libertarian in at least some national polls) between 7-9% in a Johnson-Romney-Obama match up. This is historically high, and we only expect it to rise.”

November issues of The Washtenaw Libertarian are out!

Our November issue of the quarterly publication of the LPWC, The Washtenaw Libertarian, was mailed last week for the first time in years! If you didn’t get a copy in the mail it’s because we don’t have an updated address for you! We would appreciate it if you would fill out either the Subscribe form or the Contact Us form and send us your updated information.

We plan to eventually phase out snail-mail and send out email versions of The Washtenaw Libertarian. Check back soon for a hosted PDF on the internet or your email inboxes!

UPDATE: Check out our new Newsletters page, lpwc.wordpress.com/newsletters, to see a running list of issues of The Washtenaw Libertarian and view them as a PDF!

Meeting this Wednesday (11/2) @ Classic Cup, 7 PM

Fellow Washtenaw Libertarians & subscribers,

The next meeting of the LPWC will be this coming Wednesday,
November 2nd, 7:00 PM at the Classic Cup Cafe, 4389 Jackson Ave, Ann
Arbor.

Look for us either in the back-room or at the square tables
against the rear of the main dining room as we discuss business and
recent events!

I hope to have an almost-final draft of our print-newsletter, The
Washtenaw Libertarian, by the time of the meeting! Think about which
day of the week might work for you to meet up with the officers of the
LPWC on off-meeting weeks so that we can have a get-together to print,
fold, stuff, and stamp newsletters and envelopes. This revival issue
of The Washtenaw Libertarian will be key to our future membership and
donation drives!

As usual, the first 30 minutes are typically a social meet-and-greet
time. Please join us and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any
questions. In addition, you can find out more at our website,

Help the LPWC @ the Ypsi Heritage Fest!

Thank you to everyone who helped with booth support or moral support during the Ann arbor Art Fairs! We were able to raise some money through donations as well as sign up new members to our subscribers list.

However, we now turn our eyes to the next major festival of the summer: The 2011 Ypsilanti Heritage Festival! Come support your local Libertarian Party affiliate and your libertarian ideals with a booth at the Ypsi Heritage Fest from Friday, August 19th to Sunday, August 21st! You can help us by volunteering to staff the booth… this could include setting up, passing out literature, selling t-shirts, chatting about politics, or taking down in the evening.

You can see our Volunteer Schedule here, https://lpwc.wordpress.com/heritage-fest/ , and you can sign up for any of the slots by clicking the “Sign Up Now!” link on the website and specifying how you’d like to help!
